Original Painting of Place de la Concorde by Charles Cobelle
1 in stock
Beautiful original painting of Place de la Concorde by Charles Cobelle (French, 1902-1998). The artist is a French-born American painter who apprenticed with and was greatly influenced by French Fauvist artist Raoul Dufy in Paris. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts In Paris, as well as with Marc Chagall, before emigrating to the United States in the late 1920’s. He forged his unique personal Modern Impressionistic style depicting lively dreamlike Parisian monuments, street scenes and towns in vibrant colors using open lines within various tones of color. This painting is a great example of his work and love of color and light in tones of blue, pink, yellow and orange. It depicts dreamlike abstract scenes including the famous Place de la Concorde, Luxor Obelisk, fountains, lights and Parisian street scenes. His works have achieved great success with his Parisian-influenced style. Signed lower right. This stunning painting has it all and captures the amazing charm of Paris.
