A huge lacquered goatskin and brass altar table or console by Sally Sirkin Lewis for J. Robert Scott. Ms. Lewis was the Karl Springer dealer on the West Coast until Springer opened his own showroom in Los Angeles. She had been doing so well with the line that she continued making very similar pieces of excellent quality in the same workrooms, under her own label. This is one of those rare pieces. Lacquered parchment laid over a wooden substrate with solid brass bar stock trim and stretchers. Impressive scale and quality. The table will work beautifully as a sideboard, dining room server, or entry hall table.
