Maurice Mareels (1893-1976) was a Belgian painter who studied at the Académie royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles from 1911 to 1914 and from 1918 to 1919.  He painted landscapes, still lifes, and portraits. His landscapes were mainly located in Campine (mainly in Genk) and in Brittany. His paintings are highly collectible.
