Biedermeier

Biedermeier was an influential German style of furniture design that evolved during the years 1815–1848. The period extended into Scandinavia. It was a response to the elaborate approach to design of the Empire period. Biedermeier is noted for its practical approach of restraint, suitable for the bourgeoisie of the time.
