Inspired by Summer Travel Destinations: Hong Kong

It’s hard to believe is already August but there is still time to make the most of the Summer season, taking the extra time to explore and be inspired. We are taking our inspiration this season from some of our top travel destinations.

Our first stop was the French Riviera where we marveled at the distinguished rose hued vacation home built for the Baroness Béatrice de Rothschild overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The ornate gold gilded antique pieces left us with a serious craving for all things luxe. Shop the story here.

If a crisp, clean minimal look is more your style, the Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat delivers in spades. We have the perfect pieces starting with a timeless sleek white Ambella Home Sofa, to a chic modern Donghia’s Stellare Chandelier in hand-blown Murano glass to a refreshing Lalique Crystal Bowl in a classic 1950s design. Next we headed for Morocco where we took a look at two very different takes on Middle Eastern elegance. In Marrakesh, the Mandarin Oriental had us feeling a modern take on old world charm with mogador end tables in clean lines and light colors, long low sofas for lounging while sipping mint tea and white textured carpets to keep the look bright. Shop the story here.

In the sea side village of Essaouira, the look becomes more eclectic and earthy with pared down rustic touches in calming neutrals. Shop the story here.

Now we turn our gaze to the bustling city of Hong Kong where one can find design inspiration on every corner (along with a healthy serving of dumplings for good measure). While the streets may be busy, our favorite interiors are calm and serene. In this classic Chinese home, we love the clean lines, mix of old and new and hint of red amid the soft neutral palate.
