While we only choose inventory for The Local Vault that we adore, sometimes, we come across a piece or two that we’re downright obsessed with. Things that make us want to completely redo our own homes (or maybe buy a vacation house?) so we can incorporate them. Example A? A stunning, custom-made banquette and extended trestle table pairing we recently acquired from a Greenwich client.

The tufted banquette is upholstered with plush gray velvet fabric from David Sutherland Perennials line and spans 146″.The table, by Currey & Co., features a custom gray wax finish and extends to 133″ long. A dining set this size and this drop-dead amazing basically begs for a revolving door of of dinner parties, so we decided to daydream: we came up with three ways we’d set this gorgeous table and banquette.

For the formal dinner: 
We got the inspiration for this mixed metallic look from the luminous gray velvet upholstery on the banquette. It doesn’t get much more glamorous than this!

For the girls’ gathering:
How about brunch with the girls? We pulled from the rustic look of the table to create a shabby chic garden party look that would be perfect for a Sunday fun-day with your favorite group of gals.

For a preppy party:
Of course, we couldn’t ignore the dining set’s Greenwich roots. We chose a classically preppy combo of blue and white, and added a touch of French style to complement the feminine lines of the banquette.
