Francine Gardner: The Creative Force Behind Interieurs

The minute you set foot on the gorgeous Connecticut property and home of interior designer Francine Gardner, you instantly feel as though you’ve been transported to her native South of France countryside.  The white pebbled courtyard leads you into the enchanting antique house which was once a grand horse stable on a grand estate.  Francine has updated the entrance to reflect an elegant and modern look with black glass and Tekna lighting cleverly mixed with the authentic stone entrance.

The Local Vault is excited to be selling some of her favorite collections, items from a number of chic artisan brands like Jose Esteves and Tekna, and we were delighted to be invited over for a quick peek into this gracious host’s home.  Francine entertains a great deal and has created a home for her family that truly reflects her passion for world travels – she’s visited well over 50 countries, her French heritage, and her love of contemporary art, literature and nature.  Her collections and decorating style have a way of looking effortlessly put together, chic and very French.   Her pool area and outdoor entertaining spaces are equally inviting, infused with natural stone, flowers, and gardens all around.

Francine is the creative force behind Interieurs, the stylish brand she built over the last thirty years with a showroom in New York City.  Her original Soho showroom was inspiring and felt more like an avant garde gallery of art, sculpture, furniture and industrial looking lighting.  Francine is a visionary and a pioneer in the widely popular industrial look.  While she now spends more time in Connecticut, she is constantly working with clients in New York, the Hamptons, Florida or California and continues to travel around the globe whenever she can.  Francine also spends a great deal of time with family and friends in France.

One thing’s for sure, Francine’s home exudes a soulful, sophisticated and artful ambiance, much like the designer herself!
